  • 1983-1987: high-school, Mathemathics and Physics High-School (currently “Márton Áron” Theoretical High-School), Biology-Chemistry profile (Miercurea Ciuc, Romania);
  • 1989-1994: B.Sc. in Biology, Babeş-Bolyai University, Faculty of Biology and Geology (Cluj-Napoca, Romania).
  • 1995-2001: Ph.D., Babeş-Bolyai University, Faculty of Biology and Geology, Department of Zoology, Taxonomy and Ecology Ph.D.-program (Cluj-Napoca, Romania). The Ph.D.-thesis was defended in June 2001. The title of the thesis: Cercetări asupra trichopterelor din Grupa Centrală a Carpaţilor Orientali (Studies on the Trichoptera (Insecta) communities from the Central Group of the Eastern Carpathians). Scientific supervisor: prof. dr. Nicolae Tomescu.
